I asked Jaye Helferd for an update from the partners first offsite event. It was so informative, I thought I would share it will all of you. She says....
"2009 Partners had their first offsite at Mimslyn Inn in Luray, VA. For old time partners, this place is now BEAUTIFUL, renovated last year. The 32 Partners (16 Industry; 16 Government) spent 2 ½ days learning more about themselves (Emotional Intelligence) and their strengths, tendencies and why some folks drive them crazy or others just don’t understand them (Myers-Briggs). The class is a fair mix of types, so there will definitely be learning opportunities. After dinner, the group stayed together discussing and debating “hot topics”. Not for attribution experiences with recovery funds overlapping the recently passed 2009 budget, new appointees, re-organization and other items where everyone had a question, opinion or was experiencing pain. The second day ended with partner pairs selecting their educational topics and taking steps to be a learning cohort, centered around their positions and the federal ECQs. Finally, with walkie talkies, cryptic directions and the great outdoors, the partners went on a scavenger hunt. While it was just an exercise, approaches to leadership, taking on a challenge and investigative skills were revealed. This off-site received fantastic reviews and the partners are off on their 10 month journey."
With sessions like that, I can understand why partners rave about the program.

Sounds like another partners program off to a great start. It is no wonder our community gets such great people out of the program.
