ACT-IAC Gala, Press and More

Yesterday I saw the final on the FCW supplemental on ACT-IAC which will be handed out at the anniversary gala. It’s fun and fabulous! Don Arnold and Ted Manakas did such a great job working with FCW to make this actually happen. It reminded me of my conversation last September with Anne Armstrong, when we started talking about my ideas to celebrate ACT-IAC’s anniversary and Anne suggested an issue covering the history (thank you Anne!). Of course you know I will use my favorite word here. Our dialogue sparked more ideas and then action. One step led to the next, Don, Ted and others stepped in, and over the next several months the FCW ACT-IAC anniversary special supplement was born. Then came the idea to get Federal News Radio broadcasting from the gala - an idea that Fern Krauss has been running to ground. It’s led to Fed News planning a series of interviews leading up to the gala and then Chris Dorobek, Jason Miller and Tom Temin will be on the gala floor recording interviews for post-gala airtime. Of course our fantastic IAC staff has been indispensible to the execution of these ideas and they are throwing in twists, like the red carpet (kudos Kelly), to make it even more special. I just love how these little ideas build into something special as more people get involved, dialogue, and contribute to the process.

So come to the gala - have fun reading the supplement, laugh at the memories, participate in an interview, write a vignette about your favorite ACT-IAC memory for the Anniversary book (there will be laptops at the gala so you can contribute), get your picture taken for the book - be part of ACT-IAC history!
